In a context where digital transformation is a strategic priority for research and education institutions in Europe, the OCRE 2025 (Open Clouds for Research Environments) contractual framework is established as a key tool to facilitate access to cloud computing services. This agreement, driven by the GÉANT consortium and co-funded by the European Commission, aims to accelerate the adoption of cloud technologies in the academic and scientific fields, removing administrative and technical barriers.

OCRE is an initiative that connects cloud service providers with research and education institutions through pre-established framework contracts. This allows organizations to access cloud solutions quickly, without the need for complex tender processes. In its 2025 edition, OCRE has awarded 473 framework agreements to leading providers, including Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), represented in several European countries by Quistor.

The collaboration between Quistor and GÉANT within the OCRE project framework is an example of how strategic alliances can drive digital transformation in the research and education sector. Quistor provides its expertise in implementing and managing cloud solutions, helping institutions make the most of Oracle technologies to improve their processes and operations.

This collaboration began in 2020 when Quistor was awarded the OCRE contractual framework. Over the past five years, we have carried out Oracle cloud infrastructure projects in various universities and research institutions across Europe. As of February 3, 2025, Quistor was once again awarded the number 1 position in Belgium and Spain and number 2 in the Netherlands and the United Kingdom. This award will be valid until 2030.
